Photo tour of picturesque Loch Ness

Everyone has heard of the Loch Ness monster, but did you know you can take a cruise there?

I visited Loch Ness on a Royal Princess itinerary of the British Isles that also included Belfast, Liverpool and Galway, among others.

A highlight was pulling into the port of Invergordon, Scotland, and taking a short bus ride to see Urquhart Castle, which sits beside mighty Loch Ness in the Highlands of Scotland. Here are some of my photos from that summer afternoon.

Urquhart Castle on the shore of Loch Ness. The castle is one of the largest in Scotland in area and in its day was defended by a ditch and drawbridge.

We were on the lookout on the beautiful shores of Loch Ness. Alas, no serpent sightings on this day!

The worst thing is to get off a cruise and not have a next one planned.  I have 12 coming up in year or more.
